Unit Information
Test Environment Build is a part of Development Unit Networks (DNEW) and has overall responsibility for all Test Environment builds and services towards PDUs. Test Environment Build sector consists of 11 sections with ~220 Employees and ~120 partners spread out in Sweden KI, LI, LN, China BJ, NJ, Hungary BD, Canada OT, India IN
BNEW ICT Development Environment, BID, within DNEW has a mission to ensure that DNEW has an Engineering Environment that is a competitive advantage for present and future needs
The responsibilities for Sector Test Environment Build include to enable great flow in the PDU's and Customer Units by in an efficient way
Description of the position
This is a Senior Specialist position in RF technology for lab environment. The Senior Specialist shall be the Ericsson authority in the domain 4G 5G RF lab environment and provide world-class expertise to the company. The responsibility is to actively drive the radio environment development and architectures, solutions within the RF technology area for 4G/5G lab, with a focus on 5G.
The Senior Specialist shall drive and be accountable for technology leadership in the domain. The position entails the following responsibilities:
• Securing that the lab radio environment has required setup to execute 4G 5G test activitiies
• Drive and analyze, investigate and support future integration requirements on 5G Radio units, RF environments, RF test tools and test methods. For example, new methods of combining paths for beamforming or calibration methods for new setups.
• Drive selection of specific RF equipment for quality and efficiency use in the lab networks by analyzing specifications and testing equipment.
• Responsible for efficient and high-quality setup of the connection/patching and test bed between RBS, Cross Connection Room, CCN and UE, including RF chambers.
• Drive adaption of Ericsson radio products for use in the simulated lab conditions. Looking at ways to connect new radio products in to simulated network set ups.
• Actively contribute to long term technology development within the area.
• Participate in early phases of product development activities to ensure product development in accordance to our strategy of high integration and low cost.
• Propose and/or carry out relevant studies within the specialist area.
• Interact regularly with academia and industry peers.
• Drive and foster innovation to secure relevant IPR.
• Drive technology strategy planning in the domain and ensure there is alignment with relevant stakeholders in research, standardization, technology development and product development.
• Secure co-operation with and deep understanding of the 3GPP standardization is essential to develop relevant future lab RF technology.
• Ensure thorough understanding of the market and competition to identify viable solutions and differentiators in the domain.
