Assignment Description
Our automotive client in the Mälardalen region is seeking a Senior Software Test Developer to support a major transformation in automotive software verification.
The focus is on expanding Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing capabilities to reduce dependency on physical vehicle testing and improve automation, efficiency, and early-stage verification.
You will collaborate with software developers, system architects, and verification teams to establish modern testing strategies, frameworks, and processes.
What You Will Work On
Drive the introduction and development of HIL and SIL testing capabilities.
Define strategies and best practices for virtual verification and validation.
Establish automated test environments, frameworks, and toolchains.
Identify opportunities for simulation-based testing with development and system teams.
Support teams in transitioning from physical vehicle testing to virtual verification.
Improve software verification processes and testing efficiency.
Analyse existing testing methods and recommend improvements.
Mentor teams and support long-term capability development.
What You Bring
Extensive experience in automotive software testing and verification.
Proven experience with HIL and SIL test environments.
Strong understanding of embedded software development and system verification.
Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD practices.
Experience verifying safety-critical or complex embedded systems.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to drive technical change and support transformation initiatives.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
Meritorious
Experience implementing HIL/SIL verification strategies at scale.
Experience transitioning from physical vehicle testing to simulation-driven validation.
Knowledge of automotive software architectures and modern development methods.
Experience in international, cross-functional development teams.
Familiarity with virtual ECUs, digital twins, simulation frameworks, and model-based development.
