Marine & Ports is a business unit within ABB's Industrial Automation division that assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, fast, and cost efficient way. Specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes, Marine & Ports is the leading supplier of crane systems and is active worldwide.
We are looking for a senior software engineer to join our highly skilled R&D team. In this role you will be responsible for development of innovative sensor- and automation systems in a global environment.
This position reports to R&D Team Lead.
Your responsibilities
Systems- and software engineering for sensor systems including perception and automation functionality.
Continuous improvement of software engineering practices such as continuous integration, unit tests and static analysis.
Coaching team members in their technical tasks. Expanding your knowledge base of customer needs and technological developments in sensor systems.
Pursuing new ideas for technological innovation and sharing expertise in team meetings and technical reports.
Your background
Masters' degree in computer science, robotics, physics, mechatronics, or other relevant engineering and science domain.
Solid knowledge of embedded and/or industrial systems development.
Competency in relevant programming languages and technologies C/C++, Python, Linux, UML.
Appreciated with experience from working with vision and sensor applications and technologies such as OpenCV, PCL/Open3D, Linux, ROS, Docker, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Azure ML.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
English required, Swedish not mandatory but beneficial
