This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in Java development, a passion for leading technical initiatives, and a desire to mentor and guide junior engineers as we transition from a monolithic architecture to a modern, scalable solution.

About the job
As a Senior Software Engineer at Telavox, you will play a crucial role in driving the technical direction of our Partner and Sales Enablement team. You'll be responsible for maintaining existing systems, developing new features, and leading the team in technical decision-making. Your role will involve taking charge of complex challenges and steering our technical roadmap towards innovative solutions.
A typical day in this role includes:
• Participating indaily stand-up meetings to align the team on tasks and priorities.
• Collaborating with colleagues to solve problems and implement new features while mentoring junior developers and providing guidance on best practices.
• Taking ownership of high-impact projects, from conception through implementation, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to project timelines.
• Conduct code reviews and provideconstructive feedback to help grow the skills of less experienced team members.
• Continuously engage in retrospectives to improve our processes and outcomes and ensure the team adheres to these practices.
• Actively contributing to the architectural evolution of our systems, making strategic decisions that will shape the future of our platform.
About you
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Java development who are ready to take on a role in a complex technical environment. We're looking for someone passionate about mentoring and empowering junior engineers and excited to lead technical projects that contribute to the entire team's success.
Must-have technical competencies:-Advanced proficiency in Java, SQL, and RESTful services.
• Experience in leading technical projects and mentoring less experienced engineers
• Experience in API design and development
Good-to-have technical competencies:
• Experience with Hibernate, Kubernetes, MySQL,and working with large, complex systems
• Microservices and Service-Oriented Architecture experience
