We are looking for a frontend software engineer with experience and interest to work with scaling successful experiments and helping on building common platform parts in order to bring value to Aftonbladet and further media houses within Schibsted.
WHO WE ARE
Our department, the Aftonbladet development team, has around 25 team members in product management, UX and technology. We focus 100% on Aftonbladet, and we do that also with the support of the Schibsted News Media organisation, with 250+ people in the same area. Together we build new digital products and technical platforms for Aftonbladet, VG, Svenska Dagbladet and many other Norwegian news outlets, enabling independent journalism to thrive, with products people love.
We like to experiment to create amazing user experiences. We are humble and care a lot about our craft, always helping each other to become better at it. We test, we fail and learn.

- You have at least five years of experience as a software engineer, and big parts of this experience within frontend and javascript development.
- You have a positive, team-oriented behavior and you enjoy collaboration.
- You love to solve complex development problems and produce quality code.
- Using your experience, you are always looking for ways to collaborate, share your knowledge and to give your team that competitive edge.
- You understand the challenges when working with a top-class media website with millions of users.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING WITH
- Continuous design and development of new features to push Aftonbladet's products to the next level.
- Addressing problems, defining tech solutions and collaborating with other teams inside and outside of Aftonbladet.
- Collaborate with others to identify, plan, develop, and implement systems that will support the future vision of our company. This includes actively networking with people and sharing knowledge; both within Aftonbladet and across Schibsted.
- Ongoing assessments of capabilities, performance and costs of our technical infrastructure.
- Define and measure success metrics, research new solutions and technologies and recommend changes based on analysis of their impact to all users requirements
