Senior Site Supplier Quality Management Engineer

The department Supplier Quality Management (SQM) is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars' suppliers and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production material and services to Volvo Cars. The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our diverse range of customer's expectations.

We are now looking for a Senior Site SQM Engineer within Powertrain commodity to start up as soon as possible. In this role are Volvo Cars representative at the suppliers manufacturing sites and responsible for their quality and capacity performance. It will be your responsibility to drive your supplier base towards World Class manufacturing capability as well as assessing new potential supplier manufacturing sites prior to sourcing decisions. The Senior Site SQM is also a key player in the development and launch of new car projects with the responsibility for the quality & capacity assurance of the parts produced by your supply base. It will be your responsibility to sign off that the supplier parts and manufacturing processes are meeting Volvo Cars requirements, thereby warranting delivery to Volvo Cars production and release of tooling payment.

Main responsibilities:

* Act as primary Volvo Cars ' representative at suppliers manufacturing site
* Assess new potential supplier manufacturing sites prior sourcing
* Assess and drive suppliers towards world class manufacturing capabilities
* Quality / capacity assurance of supplier parts in new car projects and running changes
* Review and sign off supplier parts and manufacturing processes towards Volvo Cars requirements
* Drive for zero disturbance at Volvo Cars production plants or end customers (caused by your supplier base)
* Drive / participate in problem solving at or related to the supplier manufacturing site
Required qualifications:

* Fluent in written and spoken English.
* Education on university level or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge about quality problem solving tools/methods.
* Experienced in production and quality incl quality systems (ISO/TS16949).
* Knowledge about Lean Manufacturing is beneficial.
* Experience from automotive industry is beneficial.
* Driving license (B)
