hela Sverige Adecco Life Science is now looking for a Senior Scientist within RIA Histopathology to AstraZeneca, Gothenburg! It is preferred that you have experience in experimental pathology and histopathology as well as possessing the ability to work independently, have excellent communication skills and being able to collaborate in a team. The position is placed at the new Bioscience department, formed early this year focusing on Lung epithelium.
The consultant assignment will start January 15th and continue for 6 months.

The Arena:
During the spring of 2017 a new Bioscience department focusing on Lung epithelium was formed in the innovative medicine function of RIA (Respiratory, Inflammation & Autoimmunity). Our ambition is to understand the involvement and dysregulation of the lung epithelium in order to develop drugs that can modulate or cure respiratory diseases. You will be joining one of 3 teams within the department that is currently supporting both early and late stage projects for both asthma and COPD.
Tasks and responsibilities/The role:
As part of the team you will be involved in multiple ongoing projects and model development with responsibility to validate target expression and/or target engagement in various cells and tissues for both in vivo studies and from patients. You are also encourage to actively take part of scientific discussion to add valuable input in experiment design, data interpretation to drive projects and techniques.
Minimum requirements
We are looking for someone with experience in histological techniques with knowledge of immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization and basic experience of image analysis to support model development as well as target validation work and discovery phase projects.
Preferred experience and key factors
Experience in experimental pathology and histopathology including analysis of human tissues, in-vivo studies and in-vivo/ex-vivo model development with knowledge of appropriate respiratory disease models would be desirable. Working knowledge of Immunohistochemistry and in-situ hybridization. Ability to independently design, execute experiments and interpret results. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team is key.
