An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and motivated Senior Scientist to join the Biochemical Assay Development team in the Discovery Biology department at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The Biochemical Assay Development team is responsible for the generation of novel biochemical and cellular assays to support projects in the early phases of the drug discovery pipeline. This is an opportunity for you to join the group as a lab-based scientist and be a key member of the team, developing in vitro assays for screening and mechanism-of-action studies in support of drug discovery projects.

In addition, you will work closely with others to help drive scientific development in the field.
Essentials in the role:
* Ph.D. in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or a related field e or a MSc degree with significant relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
* A practical understanding of a wide range of biochemical assay methods and technologies, like luminescence, fluorescence and enzymatically coupled assays for enzyme activity reactions and competition displacement assays.
* Experience from working under sterile conditions and cell culture.
We also believe that our new colleague enjoys collaboration and team working, holds networking skills with experience of interacting effectively across interfaces of fields and expertise. This goes hand in hand with your problem-solving skills, goal focus attitude and great communication ability.
