The consultant assignment will start 14 May 2018 and proceed until 2018-10-31.

We now have the opportunity for one consultant to join our team in the role as a senior scientist in the team for Pre-clinical protein and oligonucleotide bioanalytical. Working within the Translational Biomarker and Bioanalysis group in Gothenburg you will use innovative analytical technologies to develop and implement bioanalytical assays for non-clinical PK, immunogenicity and biomarker measurement.
The Translational Biomarker and Bioanalysis group is part of Safety ADME and Translational Sciences within our Drug Safety and Metabolism (DSM) function. Our vision for the Translational Biomarkers and Bioanalysis group is to develop cutting edge analytical technology and implement this in support of nucleotide and large molecule projects and novel safety biomarkers. The group has a broad remit and expertise supporting novel molecular biology and biologic projects, pre-clinical PK/PD and investigative safety studies, target organ safety strategies and microphysiological systems.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Using a range of innovative analytical methodologies, you will work to develop novel methods for the pharmacokinetic measurement of proteins and oligonucleotide therapeutics as well as immunogenicity assays. This will involve developing and characterising analytical methods using multiple immunoassay, mass-spectrometry or molecular biology techniques. The senior scientist is also responsible for delivering quality in vivo pharmacokinetic data to support the oligonucleotide and protein project portfolio.
The role requires interactive, effective communication providing clear data and interpretation to projects and contribution to the DMPK scientific strategy. The role requires making judgements about complex scientific information sets, developing innovative solutions and applying comprehensive cross-functional understanding.
In this role, you are responsible for managing your own workload and timely delivery of appropriate quality data
In addition, you will:
* Develop and implement novel bioanalytical and immunogenicity methods for quantification of Proteins and nucleotides (e.g. oligonucleotides and modified mRNA).
* Be a champion of new science and developing technologies
* Empower people around you, working collaboratively and influencing at senior levels within a global organisation
* Focus on delivery, engaging colleagues and senior management in new initiatives, creating an organisation prepared for future challenges and change.
* Perform problem solving studies by identification of issues and where necessary designing experiments to overcome problems
* Influence study directors and project teams to ensure appropriate study design and sampling to define the exposure, kinetics and immunogenicity of the candidate drug
* Plan and report all work to appropriate standards (Good Laboratory Standard, GLS) and keep project teams appraised of findings
* Work in a multi-disciplinary team within in matrix environment
Essential Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in a biological or chemical related discipline with significant experience of working in industrial environment (Pharma, CRO or biotech)
* Expertise in range of bioanalytical skills, specifically the use of multiple immunoassay platforms such as ELISA, MSD and Gyrolab technologies.
* A proven track record of publications in large molecule bioanalysis field. Innovative and influential leader, capable of developing novel strategic approaches to analytical challenges
* Highly effective communication skills: presentations, manuscript preparation, influencing and relationship building
Preferred:
* Relevant MSc or PhD
* Experience in calculation and interpretation of pharmacokinetics and reasonable understanding of PK/PD principles.
