The arena:
Packaging & Device is a team within Pharmaceutical and Analytical R&D. Our business is focused on turning good ideas into innovative, effective products that make a real difference for the end user, often the patient.
As a project leader you will be responsible for the selection of correct packaging or device within drug development projects. If our standard range of packaging and device components do not fulfill the market need, novel solutions need to be developed. It is within the role of the project leader to lead the development work, which in most cases is done together with an external partner.
All Packaging Device team members work as project leaders in the area and perform their work independently. Since different packaging and devices require different skills, the project leader needs to be working in close co-operation with internal and external partners within different areas e.g material selection, design, manufacturing, analysis etc. A broad and excellent knowledge within packaging material and development is required. You will also work in close co-operation with Packaging teams at PAR&D UK and our Operations sites.
The Packaging & Device team in Sweden is a regional team, including people working at the Lund, Södertälje and Mölndal R&D site. Your position will be at the AZ Mölndal site.
The role:
• To be responsible for packaging development in new drug projects
• To be responsible for technology transfer of packaging and device information to AZ Operations or external contract packers
• To lead global working groups within AZ
• To lead and implement improvement projects
• To lead co-operation with internal and external partners when developing novel packaging and devices and deliver according to plan
• To represent the Packaging&Device in in-licencing projects of complex packages or devices
• To independently define a problem, suggest a solution and solve the problem
Minimum requirements:
• You have a Master of Science degree, University or equivalent degree in chemical, material or physical science disciplines
• Experience in e.g the pharmaceutical industry, packaging/device design and development, packaging industry
• Organisational, decision-making, leadership and influencing skills are essential to manage multiple projects of varying complexity
• The position requires a high level of independent oversight of day-to-day activities
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in english, with ability to communicate effectively with individuals from all levels of the organisation
Preferred requirements:
• High level knowledge in polymer science
• Knowledge in various polymer processing areas
Success factors:
With a clear focus on providing what is needed in the drug development project you build a deep understanding of the drug development process. To achieve this you form networks with people in your own function as well as in other functions. You are open to change and drive new ways of working to make projects more efficient. You apply your coaching and leadership capabilities to coordinate/lead working groups in areas of packaging development and/or project work.
