The Painted Body, PB department is responsible for the development of body structures and surface treatment systems for all Volvo cars. Development work is mainly conducted within the department and in close corporation with manufacturing, suppliers, and external partners. Within PB, the Body Technology group are 20+ persons working with strategies, pre-development, concept development, and operational development. The group works with Materials & Joining CAE and Geometry assurance. We deliver new technical solutions, based on our deep knowledge of materials, efficient structures, and joining solutions for car bodies. We now need to reinforce the group with a person working with Geometry assignments and tolerance analysis.

What will you do?
As a Senior Robust Design Engineer (GSU) you will join the body technology team and support the complete Painted Body department with many different geometry assurance tasks. You will work in close collaboration with technical experts, department engineering groups, and our manufacturing engineers.
Your main responsibilities and tasks will be to support the Geometry Scrum Team with 2D drawings in RD&T (Robust Design & Tolerancing) for the coming project releases, model/simulate in Robust Design & Tolerancing tools, analyze/report stability and variation, evaluate the parts, subsystems, and complete body on a reference system, tolerance chain calculations, make and establish tolerance requirements (on drawings) considering manufacturing capabilities and final product requirements/functions, make 2D requirement drawings for A-shop delivery units, collaborate with other developers/teams, report of status and progress in VIRA/JIRA and daily stand-up meetings, and ensure the work is delivered as per specified acceptance criteria and definition.

Who are you?
We are looking for Sr Robust Design Engineer (GSU) who is coming with a geometry assurance background, possesses knowledge of tolerance calculations, and has worked as a geometry assurance engineer. We believe that you have a Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with relevant work experience. Also, you have knowledge in tolerancing, calculations, and requirements. You need to be proficient at TCe, TCVis, and CM4D and have basic knowledge of Catia V5. You will be part of a diverse team so you need to be fluent in English written and spoken. Robust Design & Tolerancing (RD&T tool) experience is meritorious.

Competence and experience are important, but personality is key!
We are looking for someone who is flexible, with a strong interest in technical development and an innovative approach. We also expect that you will have strong networking and team working abilities, and the skills to share knowledge and information.
