We are looking for senior researchers with a sincere interest in applied research investigating logistics and transportation from a digital innovation perspective.
In our unit, our ambition is to expand our research activities in our existing public and private ecosystem, widen it with new partners, and increase cooperation with universities and institutes focusing on logistics, transportation, and digitalization. We focus on contributing to a societal impact for future mobility.
About us
Digital Innovation is a unit within Mobility and Systems with a mission to perform research and apply knowledge to address societal challenges using digital innovation as the unit of analysis. Our research aims to identify and explore the possibilities and effects of digital technologies to guide how digitalization can create value for the public and private sector and society, with a focus on but not limited to mobility and transportation. We are 14 researchers in the unit now, and RISE has offices from the south to the north of Sweden. Currently, our unit has employees in Lund, Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Umeå.
About the position
With this position, we aim to strengthen our capacity to explore how sustainable logistics and transportation can enable the creation of solutions for the future with the help of digital technologies. Research themes of interest for the position, but not limited to, are; logistics, transport, business models, innovation and entrepreneurship, digital transformation.
You will carry out projects with other team members and cooperate closely with the public and private sector as well as academic partners. Your assignments will include both publicly funded research projects and direct assignments with private companies or publicly funded agencies. You will work in a passionate team with much individual freedom. We are looking for a candidate who will create, conduct, and lead research projects in close collaboration with other researchers and project managers.
Who are you?
We are looking for a person with a research background in logistics or within the digitalization of the transport sector. This position is open for persons with academic and/or extensive field knowledge. We also welcome applicants with experience participating in triple helix research and development projects with a relevant university degree.
As a person, you enjoy collaborative projects and participating in cutting-edge applied research. You are also used to deliver research and project results in collaboration with national and international partners. Your interest in digital technology is matched with a genuine understanding that inter-organizational relationships are vital in building new knowledge and driving change in logistics and transportation. You have experience in applying for external research funding and participating in applied research involving corporate partners.
The following non-exhaustive list shows areas of expertise and abilities which are of particular interest for the position:
- Ph.D. or Licentiate in a relevant field of research or
- Relevant university exam in combination with experience in participating and applying for triple helix research projects.
- Knowledge areas of interest can include logistics and transportation, digital transformation, service innovation, information systems, business models.
- Practical experience in applied research or system development from public and private sector.
- Experience in working on research projects with private and public entities.
- Experience in securing funding for research projects.
- Experience in project management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated an ability to collaborate.
