Adecco Life Science is now looking for a Senior Research Scientist to AstraZeneca Gothenburg!

You should have a bachelor 's degree as a minimum, but, you are also welcome to apply if you have the right experience and excellent experimental skills in the use of animal models and in vivo techniques.
This is a full time consultant assignment expected to start as soon as possible and proceed until December 31st, 2017.

The Arena
The functional department - Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) delivers internal in-vivo studies, daily animal care, and welfare that is compliant to internal standards and external regulations. Principles of the 3Rs are applied to all aspects of animal care and study conduction. LAS ensures our license to operate internally and manages our external animal welfare environment. The role is placed in the DSM In Vivo team, part of the LAS department.

The role

• Applies technical knowledge and expertise to achieve project targets in a timely fashion and to agreed quality standards

• Develops and maintains a level of scientific knowledge and capability, perhaps extending to specialist expertise in a specific area of work

• Represents specialism on relevant projects teams, ensuring the provision of appropriate and timely data to the team

• Independently, designs and carries out in-vivo studies and experiments that require expert knowledge, and develops and validates appropriate test methodology and specifications to achieve project aims

• Independently, assesses and reports data with a clear understanding of its reliability, interprets findings and draws authoritative conclusions and recommendations so that their significance can be appreciated

• Liaises with colleagues from other disciplines with the purpose of discussing project-related matters, sharing experiences and reporting progress

• Develops own level of scientific competence by keeping abreast of relevant scientific developments, by collaborating with peer scientists or through contacts with external groups

• Ensures that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), quality and compliance standards, e.g. Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)

• Is required to work flexibly across different areas, and may participate in provision of weekend and out of hours support.

Minimum requirements

• Graduate or experienced non-graduate

• Significant in vivo experience and excellent experimental skills in the use of animal models and in vivo techniques in especially rat and mouse.

• Problem-solving skills related to in-vivo research and data analysis

• The successful candidate will exhibit good work behaviors especially in the areas of working collaboratively and demonstrating a commitment to customers and integrity

Preferred experience and key factors

• Bachelors degree or equivalent and relevant experience within the discipline

• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
