We are now recruiting a Senior Research Scientist in vitro Bioscience for an assignment lasting until March 31th 2014, with start April 1st, location Mölndal.

Job Purpose:

This role is in the Metabolism-section within iMed CVGI Bioscience and focuses on the discovery and preclinical development of new drugs for treating type 2-diabetes and it's complications. You will be part of a team of scientists working with different projects and questions related to type 2-diabetes. The team is focused on different in vitro techniques and collaborates closely with other in vitro- and in vivo teams within Bioscience. You will work with one or more projects in collaboration with other scientists in our section.

Minimum experience:

• PhD, alt. at least 5 years of experience from laboratory work within a relevant area.
• Thorough knowledge and experience of culturing mammalian cells.
• Solid knowledge of standard techniques for the analysis of gene expression at the RNA and protein level.
• Ability to independently plan, perform, analyse and interpret the work.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

 Preferred experience/requirements:

Experience of one or more of the following is an advantage:

• Working with metabolic disease.
• Work with primary cells/tissue cultures.
• Transduction of cells using viral techniques.
• Immunohistochemistry.

Qualifications:

You should have a Ph.D. degree or at least 5 years from laboratory work within a relevant area.
