We are now looking for a senior researcher focused on immunology and inflammation with practical experience from relevant in vitro-work for a 6-months assignment at AstraZeneca.

The role
We are looking for a scientist with a PhD or equivalent background and proven expertise in the fields of Immunology and Cell Biology. The successful applicant will combine hands-on scientific input into our research activities with scientific leadership from the lab. We are specifically looking for strong practical expertise in a range of Immunological and cell biology techniques including Flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, primary cell separation and general cell culture.
The Senior Research Scientist will be lab-based, demonstrate expertise in their own area, propose experimental strategies, interpret & report experimental data and troubleshoot problems to support drug discovery projects.
The role requires ability to apply understanding of pharmacology, physiology and immunology to support drug project progression. The ability to work independently to contribute to the design and analysis of experimental procedures by incorporating the views of others and to maintain an awareness of current developments in the literature is essential for the role.
As a person you should be creative and organized, accurate and be able to work independently while moving forward. It is important that you are committed and are curious along with being open and outgoing. The successful candidate is a communicative team player that likes to work within a group and collaborate while meeting deadlines. We put high importance to personal qualities.
Minimum experience
• Academic degree in Cellbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or equivalent.
• Practical experience and theoretical knowledge of in vitro-work related to inflammation models and immunology. Please specify your technical expertise.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
