Publiceringsdatum2016-08-19Dina arbetsuppgifterYou will join the Discovery Sciences organization, working within a first-class scientific environment to support drug discovery. The Reagents and Assay Development department (RAD) of Discovery Sciences, is responsible for the generation of novel cellular reagents and assays to support projects in all phases of the drug discovery pipeline. We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join our cellular RAD team in Gothenburg Sweden, where we focus on delivering reagents and assays primarily for Cardiovascular and Metabolic diseases and Respiratory and Autoimmunity.
Your main tasks will be:
• cell line generation using traditional and precise genome editing approaches
• cellular assay development
• target identification and target validation
• to be an authority in the arena of cell science and precise genome editing
• coach and support more junior scientists by advising and challenging them and by providing expert advice
• develop cellular reagents for target based approaches and phenotypic assays, target identification, target validation
• perform confirmation of cellular/genetic manipulation and functional validation of engineered cells
• perform target identification and target validation studies in early projects
• development of stable cell lines utilising traditional, viral and Precise Genome Editing (CRISPR) techniques
• transient and stable transfection utilising different technologies such as electroporation (Maxcyte, Nucleofector, Amaxa), lipid and PEI
• viral tools for expression and cell line generation
• isolation of clonal cell lines
• MACS, FACS, limiting dilution
• design and generation of Precise Genome Editing (CRISPR) strategies
• tools and reagents required for cell line generation, target identification and target validation
• genetic (ddPCR, NGS, AmpliconSeq) characterization of engineered cell lines
• unctional (phenotypic assays, expression analysis) characterization of engineered cell lines
• culturing and functional characterization of recombinant cell lines, primary cells and iPSC in both small (multi-well plates) and large (cell factories) scale
• drug discovery and cell deliverables in an industrial or biotech setting
• cell-based assays for drug discovery would be beneficial
It is essential to have good social and communication skills, be collaborative and a strong team player.You should be able to work independently, take own initiatives and have a positive, goal oriented and problem solving attitude. Good organisational skills are required and you should be comfortable in presenting your results. Excellent English is required, both spoken and in writing.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
You should have a Ph. D. degree or corresponding experience in a relevant scientific discipline with experience in drug discovery or, alternatively, a first degree and significant relevant experience in drug discovery.
Experience of development of stable cell lines utilising traditional, viral and Precise Genome Editing (CRISPR) techniques is highly meritating as well as transient and stable transfection utilising different technologies such as electroporation (Maxcyte, Nucleofector, Amaxa), lipid and PEI, knowledge of viral tools for expression and cell line generation, Isolation of clonal cell lines MACS, FACS, Expert knowledge in the design and generation of Precise Genome Editing (CRISPR) strategies, tools and reagents required for cell line generation, target identification and target validation, Genetic (ddPCR, NGS, AmpliconSeq) characterization of engineered cell lines, experience from Functional (phenotypic assays, expression analysis) characterization of engineered cell lines and Culturing and functional characterization of recombinant cell lines, primary cells and iPSC in both small (multi-well plates) and large (cell factories) scale.
• Experience of drug discovery and cell deliverables in an industrial or biotech setting
• Practical knowledge of cell-based assays for drug discovery would be beneficial
