The arena
We are currently looking for an innovative and highly motivated scientist to join the Bioscience department within the Respiratory, Inflammation and Autoimmunity Innovative Medicine Unit in Mölndal, Sweden. The successful candidate will become part of a newly formed, creative and flexible team that investigates novel therapeutic avenues for respiratory and autoimmune diseases.
The role
You are a scientist with a strong background in immunology and a track record of research in academia or industry. In the role you will combine hands-on lab work into our research activities with strong scientific leadership. We are specifically looking for strong practical expertise in a range of immunological and cell biology techniques including multi-parameter flow cytometry, T-cell culture, lymphocyte activation and primary cell separation.
You will support discovery projects, build scientific knowledge in the disease areas and develop/refine state of the art in vitro and in vivo models.
You will drive science and capabilities in the context of adaptive and innate immune drivers of chronic inflammation associated with respiratory diseases such as Asthma/COPD.
You will communicate your results within AstraZeneca and externally at meetings and through publications.
Minimum experience
You have a PhD and a strong record of published research in immunology.
You have extensive hands-on research experience in the field of immunological and cell biology techniques such as immune cell culture, characterization by flow cytometry.
Preferred experience/requirements
You have prior experience in the identification of immune drivers of respiratory, inflammatory or autoimmune diseases.
You have strong team playing and communication skills and ability to operate effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment, providing leadership and insight in the discipline.
