At Advanced Technology & Research within Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we prepare the future with innovative technologies and push the limits with method development and advanced analysis. Vehicle Structures & Passive Safety team is a part of the technology area Vehicle Technology & Safety, and addresses Light Weight Solutions, NVH, Powertrain Installation, Aerodynamics , Passive Safety, and leads the Accident Research Team.
Within the Team, we lead, develop, analyze and test new methods and safety concepts. With our expert knowledge we also support Vehicle Engineering areas within product development projects with e.g. feature evaluations and analysis.
Our AE Technology development work is currently organized into Work Packages, clustered into Projects and further into Programs, and being member of the team will also include having Work Package responsibility for a variety of AE assignments.
Task and Responsibilities:
We are searching for a creative engineer who is passionate about safety.
With us you will work with an experienced team of experts and in close cooperation with the product development organization of cab, chassis and powertrain engineering.
• Develop concepts, methods and tools for improved passive safety, both for the truck drivers and also for other road users
• Work Package leadership of AE concept Development and Methods development tasks.
• Being part of developing strategies & road map for technology development in the passive safety area.
• Support product development with expertize within the safety area
• Be active in safety network within the Volvo Group

Requirements
• MSc/PhD in safety related area
• Experience of Safety work in the automotive business, Analysis, Testing, Feature
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Project leadership experience is a merit
• Experience with LS-Dyna and Madymo is a merit
