Skilled and committed employees are a crucial factor in the success of Linköping University. And we need more of them. Our core expertise comes from teachers and researchers, but a successful university requires experienced and motivated employees in many fields. Everyone is important. We need to recruit many new employees thanks to, among all, an expansion in our research activity. We need you here. We look forward to receiving your application!

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology conducts research and offers education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Research, the predominant activity, is often done in collaboration with corporate and international partners. We are one of the university's largest, oldest and most well known departments, encompassing five interacting scientific fields: biology, chemistry, material physics, applied physics and theory and modelling.

We are looking for a senior research engineer in computational chemistry.

Your future work assignments
Your duties will concern conducting research with focus on computational chemistry studies of chemical vapor deposition. Foremost the responsibilities will concern carrying out modelling by molecular and periodic quantum-chemical computations. The responsibilities will also include development of computer codes for simulations of thermodynamic equilibria and applications thereof, and the development of methods and applications of chemical kinetic simulations for surface reactions. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation studies may also be performed. The research topic is computational-chemistry modelling of time-resolved CVD at low temperatures for group III nitrides and of similar chemical processes for other inorganic semiconductor or insulator materials, involving precursor design, phase diagram computations and kinetic simulations.

The employee is expected to conduct science and develop the research area, and to participate in the supervision of PhD and undergraduate students. An important part of the work is the dissemination of the research by publication in internationally renowned journals and by presentations at scientific conferences. The research will be performed in cooperation with colleagues within the experimental as well as the theoretical research areas.

Your future workplace
You will be working at the Division of Chemistry at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM), in the computational chemistry group within the division's physical chemistry area, and in close collaboration with the CVD group within the division's inorganic chemistry area.

Your qualifications
We are looking for someone with a PhD exam within the scientific area of physical chemistry or similar with emphasis on computational chemistry, and with documented in-depth experience of quantum-chemical computations. We also believe that you have postdoctoral experience within the computational chemistry area, a respectable publication list, and education within the CVD area. We would like to see that you have documented experience of the theoretical studies as described in the duties paragraph above.
