Role Summary:

We are looking for a Scientist / Senior Research Engineer, experienced in production of biologics (mammalian cell culture) and process development, to join our creative and collaborative team, within the Section of Protein & Viral Production, BioProcess R&D.

Essential Responsibilities:

Our mission is to develop reagents, consumables, processes and services to support effective and reproducible processes for getting a biologics drug to the market. You will be part of a team optimizing start-to-finish processes for production of antibodies and viral vectors and cell line development.

In this role you will:
• Design, perform, analyze, document and present mammalian cell culture experiments in different formats: adherent, suspension, lab scale to bioreactors
• Develop, invent and improve new products and processes for the bioprocess industry, specifically within the fields of large scale production of antibodies and vaccines/viral vectors
• Provide scientific and technical expertise within the areas of antibody production and process development and vaccines/viral vectors and solve technical problems
• Act as Lead System Designer, activity leader and field expert reviewer in NPI and Market Support projects
• Act as a mentor/local expert and support peers within the areas of large scale biologics production
• Present scientific and technical results internally and externally, oral and written communication in Swedish and English

Qualifications/Requirements:

• PhD in biology, medicine, engineering or related Life Science field and/or significant experience from industrial development/ R&D within medicine, biotechnology or bioprocess
• Experience in mammalian cell culturing in different formats (well plates, flasks, spinners and bioreactors) and different cell types (suspension, adherent, primary, stem cells)
• Experience in culture and process development for production of biologics
• Experience in multiple analysis formats, specifically methods related to biologics production
Occasional work on weekends may occur

The ideal candidate is looking to share expertise and experience, supervising and mentoring junior colleagues, as well as integrate new learnings and develop new skills.
