AstraZeneca now looks to recruit two Senior Research Bioinformaticians to the Bioscience function of the Respiratory, Inflammation & Autoimmunity, Innovative Medicines (RIA IMED). The roles will be placed in Gothenburg, Sweden.
You will join the RIA bioinformatics team in our efforts to identify the drivers of disease phenotypes, biomarkers, target identification, patient segmentation and support of drug development projects.
We are looking for candidates with bioinformatics expertise and experience in any of the following areas: clinical informatics, clinical biomarker analysis, human genomics, microbiome analysis, statistical analysis of heterogeneous human data sets, machine learning and/or data science. You will ideally have substantial experience of applying these skills to the understanding of disease. The candidate should also have a strong publication record and proven team working skills to ensure scientific excellence and rapid progression of projects - If this is you, join us.
Requirements
* Post-graduate qualifications (Ph.D) in relevant areas of Biology or Bioinformatics or equivalent experience
* Proficiency in data analysis with R or Python
* Experience in creating interactive web based visualizations is a plus
* A proven track record of contributing to impactful bioinformatics projects
* A strong publication record
* Good communication and networking skills
* A fundamental understanding of biology, knowledge of immunology and respiratory diseases is desirable
