RISE is an independent, state-owned research institute that offers unique expertise and about 100 testbeds and demonstration facilities, instrumental in future-proofing technologies, products and services. www.ri.seWe are now looking for a Senior Research Associate with expertise in Cellulose Science and TechnologyPlacement: StockholmAbout the PositionRISE Bioeconomy is looking to recruit a Senior Research Associate with expertise in cellulose research, with a knowledge of cellulose material characteristics, cellulose processing and/or cellulose hybrid materials. Your main responsibilities will be to initiate new and ground-breaking research projects relating to the cellulose, cellulose dissolution, cellulose hybrid materials, the characterization thereof, its applications (films, filaments, aero/xerogels, fibers etc) and support sales as a field expert. This will include formulating hypotheses, designing and structuring R&D projects, applying for research funds, setting goals based on client needs and communicating state-of-the-art research. Within this position, you will work cross collaboratively with other researchers and business developers as well as with our lab and pilot environments. Who are you?Qualifications:PhD in one of the following areas; organic chemistry, materials chemistry, polymer chemistry or cellulose chemistry and technology.Documented experience (publications, conference abstracts etc.) of relevant research experience within research fields such as cellulose, cellulose modifications, cellulose composites, cellulose technology, surface chemistry, dispersion behavior and colloids.Enjoy working in teams where you may be required to assume a team lead role as well as work independently.Enjoy working in a high paced, collaborative environmentExcellent written and spoken English (strictly required) as well as Swedish.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Experience of applying for research funds and good understanding of industrial needs and global trends within the cellulose field is considered a merit.OtherThe position is full time and permanent with start-date to be agreed upon between the successful applicant and RISE.
