Technology consists of a group unit and country units and is present in all countries where TeliaSonera has its own network operations.
You will be part in a technology unit with the responsibility of the global Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture and Strategy - delivering future proof RAN evolution plans, providing competitive wireless services across all technologies and superior user experience for future applications and services, at any given time and place.
The unit is maintaining and updating the RAN strategic outlook, such as defining the evolution roadmap and technology steps needed to secure cost efficiency and business excellence through technology leadership and transformation of the mobile infrastructure into the 5G era and beyond.
The unit is striving towards network evaluation opportunities with the ambition to define both short and long-term optimal investments for all access technologies, coverage and capacity.
Your key responsibilities include
RAN evolution and long term planning Contribute with Technology leadership Participate in the RAN architecture and strategic RAN direction Transformation of the mobile infrastructure Develop strategic business cases enabling new technologies and support new business opportunities Capture and evaluate market driven demands Support the TeliaSonera New Generation Network Provide strategic RAN Support for the different business units within TeliaSonera
Required skills and qualifications
You have good communication, cooperation and coordination skills and you enjoy working in an international environment. You need to have experience in working with complex mobile network technologies as well as and commercial understanding. You need have knowledge of how to evolve the access into the next generation networks, such as 5G. Moreover, you must be able to work in a global competence center which supports multi country planning, market analysis and defines the next generation access network transformation. You know how to design, prioritize and execute plans – this to secure competitive wireless services across all technologies and superior user experience for future applications across multiple RAN vendors and markets.
The position will require some travelling.
Knowledge and experience
M. Sc. Degree in Engineering or equivalent education Good English skills, both in writing and orally. Experience in mobile network evolution and strategic planning Experience working with GSM, UMTS and LTE radio access networks Solid understanding of the mobile network end2end architecture
