The Innovation Centre in Stockholm hosts versatile talents in research, business development and marketing, working together to reach our ambitious goals.Division Biomaterials is now looking for a Senior R&D Specialist in the Research & Development department based in Stockholm. She or he will be reporting to the R&D Manager in Chemistry & Process Engineering, Biomaterials Innovation Centre. TasksYour role will be to contribute to and supervise activities in technological projects, in conversion of lignin to new value-added products. With your technological support, you will contribute to successfully bringing new technologies, applications and products derived from lignin into the market and develop new solutions together with external partners and customers. You will be working closely with our R&D and business development teams. Your role is critical in ensuring successful development of new technologies and enabling commercial upscaling of novel products and new concepts. You will have the opportunity to be part of a growing team that is key to our journey towards a truly renewable materials company.Your main tasks will be to:· Contribute to, supervise and hands-on work activities within technology & product development projects in lignin applications· Develop lignin-based polymeric formulations in areas such as adhesives, coatings and resins· Engage in activities involving lignin modifications, transformation and derivatization· Participate and be an active partner the in interface between academia and industry· Transform our chemistry development into actual sales products solving customer needs; focus on product development and product formulation together with customers.· Responsibility for the progress of technological project progress and achieving necessary results· Identify and lead internal as well as external development activities · Develop new technologies, products and methods in your area of responsibility · Gather a deeper understanding of the material behaviour and the technologies required to be developed for successfully converting lignin to new and novel products for identified strategic markets · Chemistry & Technology support for building pilot/production-scale lignin conversion facilities· Challenge the status-quo in target industries and drive adoption of disruptive innovations by customers in early-stage markets Additional InformationHiring manager Kalle Ekman, +46 76 852 04 94, Kalle.Ekman@storaenso.com, is happy to answer your questions about the position.
