hela Sverige At Seco Tools and our R&D department in Fagersta, we're responsible for product and material development - all the way from raw material to finished products - and our team of skilled professionals actively engage in a common mission to develop the future of cemented carbides.
We're now looking for a Senior R&D Professional to join our team, being responsible for compaction of cemented carbide powders. This position offers insight into advanced research, experimental opportunities, and an excellent chance to utilize your innovative ideas in a creative industrial environment. On top of this, you get to work with engaged and proficient colleagues, in a diverse setting where collaboration and flexibility really matters. Join us in shaping the future of our industry!
Your mission
In this position, you're one of our experts within powder compaction - your responsibility spans from compaction through conventional pressing to injection molding, with a focus on the insert edge quality. A prerequisite for this is a good understanding of powder/feedstock properties. You evaluate the most suitable methods, tools and processes, and you work closely together with our product development department and production to manage internal and external projects. Acting as an advisor and gatekeeper, you take part in implementations of new and redesigned products and other projects where your experience is needed.
You continually develop your own knowledge, as you capture and develop new ideas and apply them in a way that adds value to the business. You also share skills and best practices, and you support colleagues in professional growth while taking responsibility for our abilities to deliver.
While the location for this position is flexible, presence in Fagersta is required on a weekly basis. Planned travel is part of the job, within Sweden as well as internationally.
Your profile
We're looking for someone with a relevant education, such as Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science, combined with experience from conventional powder pressing or injection molding - preferably within the machining industry. Knowledge about cemented carbides and powder metallurgy is advantageous, as well as experience from practical work on machines in an industrial context. As we're a global business, we expect you to be fluent in written and verbal English, while knowledge of Swedish is beneficial.
To be part of our Seco family, we believe that you're an open and positive doer who easily collaborates and builds strong relations based on trust and straightforward communication. Grit and structure are your keys to being successful in this role, and you constantly aim to develop both yourself and our organization.
