For our Material Characterization team in Västberga, Stockholm, we are now looking for a Senior R&D Engineer who is motivated by the opportunity to work with advanced equipment and be part of developing world-class cutting tool materials.
International travel may occasionally be required in this position.
Key performance areas
In this role, you are a part of a big team of engineers at different levels and, through material analysis, you assist our internal clients within Coromant in their product development. You are responsible for our Electron Probe Micro-Analyzer (EPMA) , and you contribute to the development of cutting tools by solving materials problems. You support the organization with analyses and knowledge in the area of advanced microscopy, collaborate with research teams, perform new analyses and measurements and actively participate in materials development projects. You are accountable for the maintenance and functionality of our high-end EPMA equipment. Another part of your job is to support other users of the equipment and share your expertise with colleagues in your department and other partners within the organization.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Material Science, and at least 7 years' experience from working with electron microscopy. You have extensive knowledge in SEM, Wavelength-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (WDS) and Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and it is considered advantageous if you also have knowledge of EPMA. As we work in an international environment, you have excellent skills in English, both written and verbal, while skills in Swedish are considered a plus.
