R&D Hard Materials is a research- and development center for hard materials focused on rock drilling applications. Our field covers a broad range of materials development technologies, and we're now looking to strengthen our research team with a driven, innovative and competent Senior R&D Engineer. The job
In this position, your main responsibilities include development of new materials and production processes in collaboration with others. We work primarily with the development of cemented carbide, while other hard and super hard materials are also of interest. The role is broad, ranging from material development, process & equipment, to new product launches, and includes external collaborations with customers, institutes, and academia around the world.
You work primarily in project form, as part of a team consisting of development engineers and product managers. You contribute to the business through exercise of a subject with solid theoretical and practical foundation as well as capturing new ideas and applying them to add value to the business. Beside your own contribution, you also support colleagues to grow and guide/coach others towards results and engage in dialogue with own experiences and new ways of thinking.
This position is based in Stockholm, Sweden.

What you need to succeed!
We're looking for someone with a PhD degree and/or extensive experience in a relevant field such as Materials Science or Materials Engineering. A background within metallic, ceramic, or composite materials is advantageous, as is previous experience with cemented carbide materials and/or powder metallurgy processes. As we operate in a global setting, you need to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
