At our Raw Materials and Powder Technology department in Västberga, R&D Technicians, Engineers and Experts are working together to develop powder metallurgical processes related to cemented carbide materials. We are now looking for an analytic and collaborative Senior R&D Engineer to join our team. Your mission
As Senior R&D Engineer at the Raw Materials and Powder Technology department, you play an important role in developing a core technological area for Sandvik Coromant. With an investigative mindset and a drive to develop, you actively lead or participate in R&D projects aimed at developing powder metallurgical processes for cutting tools. You also contribute with knowledge on powder metallurgy, with focus on cemented carbide, by taking part in industrialization projects, where new technologies and processes need to be adjusted to production scale. Together with our team in the lab, you generate experimental setups, design processes and make sure that relevant analysis is performed. Experience in using statistical trial planning and multivariate data analysis is advantageous for this position. You also add value by sharing your expertise and know-how with colleagues and act as a mentor to students writing their master thesis with us.
In this position, travel is a natural part of your job, representing Sandvik Coromant in your role as Senior R&D Engineer.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or a similar field, and several years' experience from process industry and process technology development, where additional work experience with powder metallurgy is highly advantageous. As we act in an international setting, you need excellent skills in English, both verbally and in writing, and skills in Swedish are beneficial.
