About the Role
You will step into a senior finance role in an innovation-driven automotive environment where R&D investments, portfolio priorities, and business decisions need clear financial steering. Working close to R&D leadership, Finance, and operational teams, you will turn complex activities into transparency, structure, and actionable insight.
This is a visible role where you get to support and challenge senior stakeholders, strengthen governance, and improve how financial performance is understood across the R&D portfolio. You will help create clarity in a setting where priorities shift, information can be incomplete, and strong decision support makes a real difference. Job Description
You will drive financial steering for the R&D portfolio, with focus on cost drivers, run-rate versus project spend, and performance against targets.
You will lead planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis to support prioritization, trade-offs, and resource planning.
You will provide concise executive-level reporting with clear insight into risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
You will support investment cases and decision material with solid financial analysis and follow-up on expected benefits.
You will strengthen governance, routines, controls, KPI definitions, cost allocation logic, and data quality across the R&D organization.
You will act as a trusted business partner to senior managers and stakeholders, helping them make informed decisions with clarity and accountability.
You will connect R&D, Finance, and other functions to align assumptions, reporting logic, and financial flows.
You will identify and implement smarter ways of working within analysis, reporting, and planning.
You may also collaborate with external customers or partners related to reporting, follow-up, and decision support.
Requirements
Degree in Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field.
Significant experience, typically 7+ years, in controlling, FP&A, or business partnering in a complex environment, preferably project-based, industrial, tech, or R&D-intensive.
Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders, influence decisions, and challenge in a constructive way.
Strong skills in financial analysis, forecasting, performance management, and translating operational reality into financial impact.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial flows, and how they affect decision-making.
Advanced Excel skills and strong systems understanding.
Fluency in English, written and spoken.
Nice to have
Experience with SAP and/or Power BI.
Background in R&D controlling, project controlling, or product development environments.
You are quick to understand new contexts, work in a structured and pragmatic way, and are comfortable creating clarity when information is incomplete.
