As a Senior Quality Control Analyst you will be responsible for receiving and analyzing incoming materials, product intermediates and finalized products for Research & Development and Production using a range of analytical instruments. Highly skilled specialist in a specific area or scope of the laboratory. Participates and leads in problem solving, technical troubleshooting exercises, and technical discussions where needed. Senior mentor and trainer for analysts and technicians.
Key responsibilities include
Perform testing of mainly special requests analyses, occasionally when needed also control plan inspection items, using a variety of laboratory instruments.
Specialize and own a specific area or scope of the laboratory.
Perform data analysis, interpret data and report data/results as required, and take correct actions when results are found to be out of specification.
Organize test results in the expected template and/or LIMS system, maintain control charts and ensure instruments within the area of responsibility are kept and maintained to a high standard.
Able to troubleshoot instrument basic and advance problems, utilizing the help of suppliers for more major issues. Able to suggest equipment upgrades as see fit.
Understand the fundamentals of method development and validation and take lead in the planning and execution side.
Lead method improvement plans; write and update standard operating procedures as needed.
Mentor and train colleagues on practical aspects of the analysis methods such as sample preparation and running instruments, according to work instructions and risk assessments.
Ensure regular (daily, weekly, monthly) preventive maintenance on instruments within the area of responsibility is performed.
Ensure equipment ownership responsibility within the area is taken care of, including:
Ensure consumables, chemicals and other tools required for the instrument are in stock and ordered on time.
Set up and ensure preventive maintenance routines are followed by all users.
Ensure continuous adherence to 5S around the equipment and its workstation by all users.
Understand the fundamentals of quality assurance and quality control principles and relevant quality management system requirements (control plan, non-conformity management, deviation and change management, control samples and control charts, calibration management, ISO9001, IATF16949, ISO17025, etc.)
Adhere to and ensure 5S and safety protocols are maintained within the laboratory work environment. Always work with safety as first priority.
Requirements
Bachelor 's degree (or technical school degree) in a technical field.
Strong relevant laboratory and work experience.
Strong hands-on experience using a set of relevant analytical instruments and measurement equipment.
Experience within a quality control work environment is a plus.
Curious, technically educated, and with a continuous interest in a laboratory career in industry.
Brings strong relevant soft skills to the job.
Understanding of method development and method validation procedures.
Understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles, and quality management system requirements (ISO90001, IATF16949, ISO17025, etc.).
