Successful candidates will have a personal interest in software development, value close cooperation with a team of like-minded developers, and be respected by other team members for consistently producing quality results on time and actively contributing to the design of successful technical solutions.
Required skills and knowledge:
• Advanced Python experience
• At least 3 years of development experience, preferably with an emphasis on open source tools in a UNIX environment
• Strong written and spoken English
Preferred skills and knowledge:
• Large-scale computing experience of advanced multi-threaded applications including high availability, scalability, reliability and distributed systems
• Experience with Cassandra, Mongodb, Gluster, PostgreSQL, Wowza, Apache and Javascript
• Familiar with design patterns
• Master level degree or equivalent with strong grades
• Practical use of Scrum and Agile or similar lean methodologies
• Proven experience with testing methodologies such as TDD
• Track record managing projects
Professionally you are comfortable delivering to deadlines by managing your own time and priorities well, and are both productive and responsible. You contribute well in teams with clear communication and a positive approach to problem solving. You have a wide knowledge, quickly learn new skills, and are comfortable learning and maintaining a large code base for use in production environments.
