Bombardier?s Rail Control Solutions division (RCS) is a world leader in developing, engineering and installing rail control and signalling safety systems, products and services. RCS enables the safe and efficient operation of rail networks and trains.
Your Role
The RCS Planning Competence Center works to improve on-time delivery of RCS? projects in alignment with our global objectives in the area of resource planning and scheduling. In this role you may have different ways of engaging with projects. For example, you might be assigned to a large project to support the team as the lead project planner or you might be assigned to coach a junior project planner for a few weeks at start-up of a new project.
You should be result- and solution oriented and be open to contribute to development of solutions proposed by other team members. At the same time proficient in the planning and scheduling concepts (e.g., critical path) and planning tool (Primavera) to promote systematic approaches and increasing awareness about best practices in project planning.
The projects that you will be involved can differ largely in size and complexity. The projects may also have special expectations that are largely influenced by our clients. The key is to have the skill to adjust the team-working approach to new situations and be innovative finding ways that team can work effectively and deliver results.
The role requires cross-functional collaboration and you should be able to understand functions such as procurement, engineering, finance and quality to develop and maintain project plans that are harmonized and accepted by team members.
Our work environment is truly multi-cultural and you will interact with many nationalities on a daily basis. You will be responsible for planning projects with teams that are scattered globally. This means that you should be able to use collaboration tools such as SharePoint, screen-sharing tools and telecom conference effectively and remotely lead teams and tasks. You will be required also to travel frequently within and outside Europe.
Your Experience and Qualifications
You have a university degree within relevant technical discipline.
You need to be fluent in English (written and spoken)
We expect you to have 3-5 years of experience from a similar role
You have a number of years of experience in using Primavera P6, and need to be proficient user of MS Excel
You are capable of inspiring and motivating others and have a good understanding of cultural differences and local drivers. You need to have strong presentation and facilitation skills. You also need to be comfortable working with senior management, guiding them through the conclusion drawn by your team.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, quick to learn and able to identify problems and find solutions that are supported by team members.
