You will be in charge of the strategy development, control and management of AE projects, cross commodities, cross sites, in line with the Global Technology development process and lead projects within the program. Depending on your experience and the roles given you will have a project management or Senior project manager position.
You will have the role to lead the Vehicle Dynamics programs below.
Vehicle Dynamics program includes:
Brake systems
Steering and suspension systems
Stability control system
Related control systems
Related methodology, tools development
Chassis structural properties related to VD and X-chassis offers
Assurance of related feature development according to global product plans
Features and target area: Handling, Braking and Agility. The program should also support the features Load capacity, Ride comfort and vibrations, Working comfort and Fuel economy
The overall objective for the programs is to develop and secure and transfer mature technologies and concepts to product development according to Group Technology Plan and global product plans.
You will be a member of the Vehicle Dynamics & Active Safety coordination team and you are expected to lead the area towards given targets in a cross functional way of working through a teamwork oriented and inspiring leadership. You will be supported by a unique set of global expertise in the area.
The role as a program leader is estimated to cover 50 % of the time and you?re expected to complement with project management or work in projects within the area.
Responsibilities:
Develop and anchor (with relevant stakeholders) related strategies and roadmaps aligned with the Group Technology Plan and business needs for the Volvo group.
Assurance of:
Technology, feature and concepts developments in line with above strategies and roadmaps
Commonality and global perspective
That Cost and quality targets are met
Public founding to support and strengthen the development and knowledge in the area
The role also includes to:
Build and manage the Research and AE program including assurance of participation and collaboration with external partners(suppliers, universities, institutes etc) globally ?
Take full responsibility for deliverables and report to the R&AE Management team
Develop and lead main plans, schedules and action lists
Required profile:
A PhD or a Master of degree Science in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or equivalent engineering with experience equivalent to 10 or more years of progressive automotive experience, including 5 or more years of Project and/or line management experience. Interest and knowledge in commercial vehicles and specifically in the Vehicle Dynamics area.
A broad vehicle technologies background is desired, moreover good leadership, networking and communication skills is essential. As the area covers early research to product implementation a broad interest and experience from different phases of R&D is preferable
You have the ability to get buy-in, are a team player and you are result-oriented.

Strong delivery and business focus
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
