Klarna is on track to become a new force in payments worldwide and we're looking for amazing people to join us in this journey. Klarna is a rising star in the field of payments, currently operating in 6 markets in Europe and constantly expanding to new countries. Our ability to know who to trust online lets consumers buy anywhere, anytime, with maximal comfort and minimal hassle. We separate the fun buying experience from the painful payment experience; as a result, consumers shop for more, more often and with more confidence with merchants who use Klarna.
With both merchants and consumers preferring Klarna, we're growing fast and after doubling each of the past 5 years our growth is actually accelerating. The growth is driving exponential growth in challenges as well: we are processing $2.5 Billion annually today, and doubling that is more than double the challenge. This is where you come in.
At Klarna's Risk and Decision team ("Risk") we build and maintain decision and control systems that regulate systems at the core of Klarna's business such as which purchases get approved, which merchants get on board, how our debt collection process should be personalized and so on. We employ state of the art methods in forensics, machine learning, data analysis and decision support to deliver the best decision and data products possible and we constantly beat the market on loss and repayment levels. We are rapidly expanding and looking to fill several senior roles that will drive Klarna's future.
Risk Management in Klarna is part of the core product. As a result, everything we do impacts and has dependencies on multiple other teams: Engineering, Operations, Sales and others. The projects that Risk delivers require coordination, resource management and synchronization on a day to day basis to allow timely delivery according to expectation. Failing to deliver on a project means missing the company's profitability targets; in extreme cases they may drive the failure of a whole market or product.
Risk's program manager will be in charge of making sure that are projects and plans will be delivered according to specification and in a timely manner; that they are coordinated with our internal and external customers as well as with partners; and that all aspects of delivery are well thought of.
This is a full time position in Stockholm, Sweden.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning and implementation of projects, both internal and external to Risk
• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables according to strategic plans
• Identify and determine dependencies, manage deliveries from supporting functions, and lock down resources
• Identify and act to mitigate delivery risks - both in advance and on a day to day basis
• Develop full scale project plans and maintain up to date project status reporting - daily and for other time frame
• Collaborate with other project functions within Klarna
• Track projects' expected impact and assess eventual result
• Manage priorities between projects as they shift according to business requirements
Requirements:
• Several years' experience in managing multiple, medium to large scale projects under severe time and resource constraints
• Very fluent and comfortable with English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages, mainly Swedish, is highly desired
• Proven success in timely, high quality delivery of projects
• Proficient with measurement of project progress and impact as well as impact forecasting
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to impact stakeholders in a matrixed, ambiguous structure
• Strong presentation skills
• Technical project management experience a big plus
• Experience with payments risk management, data and engineering a big plus
