This is Chassis Vehicle Engineering and the team Product Governance & Customer Adaptation
Through strong technical leadership and experience, we lead the development of chassis and vehicle dynamics for Volvo Trucks HD product as well as all common solutions with Renault Trucks HD.
The team you will belong to; Team Product Governance and Customer Adaptation, is a group within chassis department Vehicle Engineering Gothenburg, and have responsibilities within geometry assurance, quality and material control, and customer adaptation within Volvo Group Trucks Technology.
The whole group consists of 13 people whereof 7 is working with customer adaptation. We work together with many colleagues with different technical skills and cultures, which give you the opportunity to develop yourself, at the same time, contribute with your open mind, energy, passion, and respect for the individuals. Main Responsibilities
The Senior PM Local Sourcing will cooperate closely with the local purchasing organization (GTP) in order to find suitable local suppliers that are able to produce parts to the local production. Close cooperation with us in Group Trucks Technology (GTT) will be an important part in finding the best possible solutions. Frequent travelling to the local markets will be required, in periods up to 50% of the working time. Russia will be one of the markets to approach to begin with.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following main activities and deliveries, in line with agreed product QDCF targets:
In close collaboration with component and system owners in Chassis Vehicle, define the local sourcing strategies within the various technology areas, for each concerned market
In cooperation with GTP identify and evaluate possible product content to be produced locally
Together with GTP visit and evaluate potential suppliers
Drive the sourcing activities within the Chassis department in order to deliver according to needs in the sourcing projects
The PM Chassis reports to the CPM in the sourcing project dimension and thus represents the Chassis engineering function in the Project Management Team (PMT)
The position reports to the Manager for Product Governance & Customer Adaptation and is located in Gothenburg. Frequent travelling is expected.

Skills and Experience
As a Senior PM Local Sourcing you are expected to have a strong business mind-set and strong networking skills. We expect you to have a strong drive and energy level and you must see challenges as inspiring. You have a high level of integrity and easily build trust. Expected profile:
University degree in Engineering or equivalent
Long experience within engineering with good skills in various manufacturing technologies
Experience as a project manager in product development projects
Familiar with GTT organization and deliveries
Truck knowledge
Fluent in Swedish and English
