Senior Project Manager - Special Vehicles Development
Job Summary
As a Senior Project Manager you lead and direct activities of a cross-functional project team to develop and industrialize project deliverables in a timely and quality assured manner. Your capacity to lead, accurately predict and consolidate all product development project aspects is paramount for a profitable total business offer as well as to execute and secure the design and validation plans on time. Your work will serve as an important input to the decision making process and to secure a successful delivery.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
• Plan, follow-up and deliver Product Development projects with high complexity and/or several related projects for a major delivery according to agreed scope, budget, time plan and quality
• Interface with, and consolidate contributions from internal stakeholders as well as all external partners, e.g. engineering development partners, manufacturing partners, component manufacturers and body builders
• Work in close connection with the Special Vehicle Development architects and Engineering leaders, applying global and lean processes to secure reduced time to market and development cost
• Work in a strong cross-functional mode with all other line organizations (Volvo Trucks sales, manufacturing, aftermarket, purchasing, finance, etc.)
• Stay in close connection to end-customer in order to fully meet the demands of targeted niche vehicles and/or services
• Develop and share acquired competence and provide advice. Contribute in continuous improvement activities to find efficiency gains for reduced time to market and lower cost in product development
• Participate in business development and innovation
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
For success in this role we expect you to have a Master Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) and work experience within project management for a minimum of 10 years and minimum 6 years as Senior Project Manager. You have excellent knowledge in the project control method for development projects used at Volvo and good skills in risk management. You have several deliveries of successful product launches, mechanical and/or electronics, in your portfolio. Experience from special vehicles, customer adaptation and/or from electromobility development projects is considered as a strong merit.
