We are looking for senior project managers who want to drive major international IT projects. IKEA has 287 stores in 26 countries. Supporting these stores are an organization with many functions such as product development, logistics etc. All functions are highly dependent on IT solutions in their daily work. With a high rate of expansion in an always changing world our IT systems requires constant development, adaption and maintenance.

The PMO within IKEA IT is seen as a strategic function. Today the PMO consists of about 30 project managers, plus a number of external consultants. In the role as senior project manager you have the primary responsibility for the IT scope in IKEA business projects where IT is a component. Due to IKEA's advanced IT environment, global spread and the organizations cross functionality most projects are very complex. The projects within the PMO can often stretch over more than a year.
Normally all projects are preceded by an extensive pre-study before the project manager takes over the full responsibility. When the project starts you are accountable for risk assessments and for planning the entire project based on the predefined scope. You have full responsibility for project delivery and budget. It is you who decides whether the scope is clear or not, and it is up to you to decide which features, resources and activities that are required for a successful project delivery. Given that the application management is outsourced, it is crucial that you have experience in contract negotiations and managing projects with external suppliers.

It is your responsibility that all communication and information towards the various stakeholders of the project function well. An important task is to create awareness of the needs and motivation to change. Therefore you must have the ability to pedagogically explain how and why the business on a global level will profit from the change. As the projects are extensive you will work in a matrix organization that reflects IKEA's internal processes. You have experience from managing internal- and external functions and technical specialists for your projects.

Utbildning och erfarenhet
We are looking for individuals with experience of managing projects in large international organizations who understand that the management has its focus on business and that IT is a support to the business. Your strengths are in your leadership, your ability to build relationships and to understand the organizations business- and project related needs in order to motivate and implement change. You have the integrity necessary to run large scale projects and the ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.

We offer you a strategic position and a key role in major international business projects which will support IKEA's expansion. You are part of a professional team of project managers with solid expertise.
You have an academic education as well as adequate training and certifications in areas such as PPS and PMP. You are likely to have experience from management from both a traditional line organizations and from projects. You have a good understanding of IT, but your greatest strengths lie in your leadership and your proven ability to manage and execute large, complex projects. You will take full ownership and responsibility for your projects. As senior project manager some international travel may occur.
