Our corporate staff unit Exploration, Strategy & Business Development is now looking for change makers to meet this challenge. You will be a key player in our work with exploration, expansion in our mines, feasibility studies and reporting of exploration, mineral resources and reserves according to PERC. A challenging and exciting time lies ahead of us and we are now looking for people wanting to be part of our journey, and we want to recruit to the following positions:
• Senior project leaders for feasibility studies regarding future mines and processing in Malmberget and Svappavaara
• Senior specialists within the areas of mineral processing, and electrification/hydrogen gas production
About the positions
• As project leader you will work both independently and as part of a team whose mission is to lead and coordinate the work to develop, verify and validate LKAB:s expansion Life of Mine Plan. You will also lead and coordinate work with feasibility studies that are reported in accordance with PERC, or other necessary studies. You are also responsible for assisting in work aiming at developing the process and methodology for feasibility studies and expansion LoMP work.
• As specialist you will work both independently and as part of a team that develops, verifies, and validates LKAB:s expansion Life of Mine Plan. You will also participate in feasibility studies and other necessary studies.
You will have other colleagues with good competence and experience within the area by your side. You will also work closely together with colleagues in other parts of the company and you are expected to represent LKAB internally and externally. You will be based in Kiruna, Malmberget or Luleå, and travel will be a natural part of the job.
Your qualifications and skills
Senior Project leaders
You must have a Master of Science degree in mining/civil/chemical/metallurgical engineering or similar, at least 15 years of experience of the mining and/or processing industry and working according to international standards. You have experience from technical and economic assessment of mineral deposits and the process of developing these into mineral reserves, and have deep knowledge within your area of expertise as well as an ability for "system thinking" in order to develop the whole value-chain from mine to finished product. You are target oriented, analytical and have experience of working with issues on a strategic level. Experience of life-of-mine planning, feasibility studies and strategic projects according to international standard is required. You are also interested in continuous improvements and development within the department. You demonstrate strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills and have an ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
Specialist
You must have a Master of Science degree in engineering (mining/chemical/metallurgical or similar for the position in Mineral Processing; mechanical/electrical/energy or similar for the position on electrification/hydrogen gas production), at least 15 years of experience of the mining and/or processing industry. You have experience from technical and economic assessment in projects and have deep knowledge within your area of expertise as well as an ability for "system thinking" in order to develop the whole value-chain from mine to finished product. You are target oriented, analytical and have experience of working with issues on a strategic level. Experience of life-of-mine planning, feasibility studies and strategic projects according to international standard is preferred. You are also interested in continuous improvements and development within the department. You demonstrate strong technical writing skills and have an ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
