This position is based in Uppsala, where Thermo Fisher develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. How will you make an impact?
We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer who will be a driving force in the technical development where the main aim is to increase our production capacity and efficiency within Global Operations within the Immuno Diagnostics Division of Thermo Fisher. You will be contributing to the development of our sites and the growth of our business by realizing our site master plan. The team you belong to is the Project Management Operations team that consists of 20 project managers & engineers, including consultants with different fields of expertise.
What will you do?
You will act as the technical lead in investment projects, leading suppliers and contractors and act as installation leader. Your responsibilities include all commissioning activities from requirement management (develop and manage the URS), FAT, SAT and installation activities in projects. Your ability to collaborate and to understand the business need and translate this into requirements and realizing them into solutions is key to success.
You will also have the opportunity to lead investment activities with technical focus where you allocate resources, manage your project team and are accountable for the time plan and budget.
The project teams are multifunctional, typical interfaces are engineering functions, production, supply chain, R&D, sourcing, QA and external partners and suppliers. The majority of the projects take place in our Uppsala site but some activities also spans over our sites in Freiburg, Germany and Ängelholm, Sweden. Most of our suppliers are located in Europe.
Apart from working in projects you will also work together with your colleagues in the team to improve ways of working in project and portfolio execution and planning.

You are driven problem-solver who can see both the bigger picture and manage details and have a clear result focus. You are also an excellent at collaboration with internal customers, colleagues and suppliers.
To be successful at the position:
You have an Engineering degree preferably within chemical or technical biology or similar with 5-10 years of experience of engineering and project work in a regulated business
You are used to work with external partners and to manage requirements
You have experience from leading projects in installation phase with several where suppliers, contractors and multiple internal resources are involved and work towards tight deadlines
You have experience of working in a production environment where operations often must run in parallel to technical projects
You have a strong result focus, drive and win together mentality
You can easily communicate in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
