Vattenfall is Europe's fifth largest electricity generator and the largest producer of heat and operates in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Benelux and the UK. Our strategy is to reduce emissions from power generation with a road map to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Business Division Renewables is responsible for wind power and biomass. Investments in wind power is an important cornerstone to deliver our road map and we plan, build and own wind farms in six countries, onshore and offshore. Investment in biomass fuelis key to further reduce the emissions.We haveabout 300 employees.
Within BD Renewables the Business Unit Onshore Wind is now looking to recruit a Senior Project Economist. In the role as Senior Project Economist you will work with developing and creating a sound business rationale for the projects. Being accountable for the project business cases you will closely interact with the development Project Leaders as well as with involved expert functions e.g. Procurement, Wind Resource and Generation. Furthermore you will have a close cooperation with the other Senior Project Economists and you will play a key role in the evaluation of acquisitions and divestment opportunities in the Swedish market.Job description Accountable for the Project Business Cases for the Swedish Development Portfolio
Coaching of the Swedish onshore organisation on project economics, create awareness of the key value drivers in onshore wind
Regular analysis of the portfolio, together with the other Senior Project Economists
Be a champion in Onshore wind economics and offer support in Market monitoring, Strategy Development and Business Planning
Analysis of acquisition and divestments opportunities
QualificationsThe successful candidate holds a post-graduate degree in economics, finance or engineering, with a minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience from financial modelling.
We are looking for a person with:
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, seeing the whole and the details, with a structured way of working
• Strong Business acumen and commercial skills
• Strong MS Excel skills (programming experience considered a plus)
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to function well in a team environment
• Well-developed communication skills (report writing and the analysis and presentation of complex issues in a clear, concise format)
• Excellent English communication skills
• Experience from the Wind industry is considered a plus
