hela Sverige Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join our great team in Stockholm. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design and develop state of the art power electronics solutions including DC/DC, AC/DC and DC/AC with power levels from a couple of watts to tens of kW
Optimize next generations battery systems by integrating novel power electronic designs for protection, monitoring and voltage conversion
Finding the optimal topologies and technologies based on requirements, calculations, and simulations
Custom design of application specific power magnetics
Assure product quality by performing worst-case circuit analysis and reliability calculations. Design for manufacturing
Specify test methods and assist in development of production test equipment
Selection of components based on performance, cost and availability
Lead the integration of hardware and software by working closely with firmware/embedded software engineers in the team
Laboratory work and troubleshooting electronics

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have:
MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred. Minimum BSc degree in relevant field.
Experience in power electronics design. Experience in bi-directional converters, high current converters, grid connected converters and resonant converters is a plus.
Hands-on experience with schematic design, circuit simulation and PCB layout. Altium PCB design tool experience is a plus.
Experience in simulation of converters and design with digital controllers is a plus.
Excellent design skills in analog, digital, and power electronics, including noise issues, power handling on PC boards, and isolation.
Good knowledge of EMC/EMI design practices and the relevant validation testing.
Experience in electrical safety certification and requirements is a plus.
Familiarity with microprocessors and communication circuits.
Troubleshooting expertise in electronics.
