Biobarrier Innovation team acts as a center of excellence in next generation barrier solutions for (food) packaging. The target is to generate breakthrough technological barrier solutions into pilot and demo scale.

The Biomaterials Innovation organization focuses on identifying business opportunities and developing new products in markets for renewable and bio-based materials. Our aim is to work closely with our customers to understand their strategies and devise solutions to support and boost their competitive advantage. YOU WILL

As a Senior Polymer Engineer you be part of the technology upscaling team and responsible for developing and drive ideas for new bio-based products and processes. You will play an important role in the development of paper/board based substates from conceptual design to pilot trials and further to commercial scale. In the role you will contribute and supervise activities related to food packaging conversion processes. Part of a multi-functional team you will aim for achieving project goals as a project leader as well as a project member.

Other responsibilities:

• Evaluate current process, optimize and recommend new ideas and techniques to ensure project success.
• Set up plans for pilot trials based on new research results.
• Develop and maintain process related documents including ensuring project 's timelines and budget.
• Build strong relationships with key players in R&D and technology suppliers.
• Lead in the areas of expertise, coach colleagues and internal teams.
• Be responsible for working according to guidelines, present work aligned to your competence area in internal project meetings and external meetings. Be the expert in customer meetings.

YOU ARE

We are looking for a communicative team player with a high level of flexibility. To be a good match with the team you need to be creative, innovative and analytical. We think that you are passionate about working with new sustainable products and processes in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.

In order to succeed in this role, you need to have solid experience in R&D and Innovation and ideally linked to production.

Your proficiency is based on a Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy Degree or equivalent knowledge in a relevant area such as Polymer Engineering/Polymer Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Material engineering/Plastic Engineering.

We value experiences in film lamination, film processing, extrusion coating and injection molding for food packaging application. Understanding of food packaging conversion processes is required.
