hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Red Glead Discovery AB i Lund Job description: The peptide chemist is responsible for contributing to the design, synthesis, purification, and analysis of peptides to support e.g. drug discovery project teams. The work is lab-based and focused on (but not limited to) the production of peptides for internal or customer assignments, thus the main activities are synthesizing, purifying and analysing peptides using both standard and advanced procedures. Further, the chemist deals with development and troubleshooting of synthetic routes directed to the target molecules and performs basic analytical and structural data analysis.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and within an international team environment is required.
The peptide chemist needs to be able to effectively communicate with project team members and customers, both in written (reports) and oral form (meetings). Further, the role might entail:
• Appropriately using relevant software, literature and databases needed for effective project management.
• On demand, contribution to patent applications by patent searches, providing data and writing is expected.
• Effectively providing input on chemical feasibility and resource allocation need for new peptide internal or customer project proposals.
Qualification requirements
• PhD or engineer in peptide chemistry, synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related sciences with at least 3 years of experience in peptide chemistry
• Comprehensive and state of the art knowledge in modern peptide synthetic methods
• >3 years of experience of using and programming automated peptide synthesizers
• >3 years of experience of post cleavage work-up and modification of peptides
• >3 years of experience of analytical and preparative HPLC of peptides.
• Experience of MS analysis of peptides
• High level of professional expertise in modern laboratory and analytical methods
• Knowledge of relevant software, literature and databases needed for work
• Proven track record of delivering results both independently and in team settings
• Strong use of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Excellent communication skills,
• Fluent in both written and verbal English and preferably also Swedish.

Red Glead Discovery (RGD) is a preclinical drug development company with 25 employees located at Medicon Village in Lund, in Southern Sweden. Our focus areas are medicinal chemistry, synthesis of small molecules and peptides, bioanalysis, and ADME and in vitro biology services offered to clients within the Life Science sector. Our customers are located in Scandinavia, Europe and USA.
We are expanding the business and offer a position as a senior peptide chemist. This is a permanent position and you will report directly to the Head of Peptide Chemistry.
