hela Sverige We are looking for a Senior Patent Paralegal within the Patent team of the Legal Affairs IPR function.
In this role you will manage and be responsible for ensuring that the Patent Paralegal function performs according to the standards and guidelines established by the Tetra Pak Patent organization to identify, secure, manage, and exploit our IP rights. Furthermore, you will implement and continuously improve our internal processes and see to that the team of 4 Patent Paralegals work together as a team with a common set of goals.
You will network globally with Patent and Legal Counsels and with an established set of patent agents and outside counsel, as well as with researchers and development engineers within the company. The Senior Patent Paralegal position reports to the VP Legal Affairs IPR.
Main responsibilities
• Manage a team of four patent paralegals supporting the Patent team
• Support Patent counsel in filing and prosecuting patent applications in multiple jurisdictions
• Monitor the spend and performance of the patent team and process the invoices
• Supervise, maintain and continuously improve the internal processes related to patent filing, prosecution, maintenance
• Support internal governance processes
• Oversee the system to track deadlines
• Manage the IPR database. Keep up with and assess improvements of available IPR databases and tools
• Support Patent Counsel with analysis and assessment of patent-related matters based on search results and reported information.
Qualifications
To be successful in this manager role you must be a self-motivated person capable of working independently as well as within a team. You can relate well to all kinds of people and are good at motivating others. You have a strong drive for accurate results and you are good at organizing both people and activities.
An important aspect of the Senior Patent Paralegal role is the ability to lead and collaborate with others. At least 5 years of previous paralegal experience, preferably in a patent environment, are required. Previous experience leading a team is a plus.
You must have a genuine interest in technology and the ability to continuously acquire sufficient knowledge about new legal subjects. Detailed knowledge of patents and the international patent filing system is required. Proficiency in technical information database searching is preferred.
Fluency in English is essential, both written and verbal.
