Packaging & Installation is a group within Electrical Engineering. The group is responsible for packaging and 3D visualization of all components and wire harness within Electrical department, and for development of mechanical components.
We are now seeking for an
Senior Packaging Engineer
To group BF73370, Packaging & Installation, Electrical Engineering.
Group BF 73370 is responsible for:
• 3D-packaging and visualization of all electrical components and electronics owned by the electrical engineering.
• Routing and fixation of wire harness and power cables in cab and chassis.
• Leading, as well as designing parts to support the installation of the electrical/electronic system and wire harness into the vehicles concerned.
Key responsibilities
Investigate what type of mechanical solutions (material and assembly wise) that is required in the different projects, resulting in a technical description.
Drive packaging studies for all components in the responsible area
Space claim for all electrical components in the responsible area
Support the technical description and technical specification global parts Assembly- and serviceability/accessibility demands of all components within area
Definition of the packaging requirements for electrical components and the mechanical interfaces against other commodities (CAB, Chassis, Design)
KOLA/vehicle structure release of all parts, Cad modules, etc. in responsible area
Project Protus follow-up and build trucks structure support.
Participate in global/ cross functional packaging meetings and physical verifications.
Lead the engineers to develop components document and validate their deliveries.
Support Electrical component owners with packaging requirements, installation and interfaces against other commodities and participate to the validation of installation (input to TR, review).
Quality assurance of the installation components by using the quality tools (FMEA, DFA, etc.)
Act as interface against other commodities GTO, AM, PUR, etc. regarding installation issues

Profile

The job is dependent of a good network within and outside the company, therefore your ability to communicate and to work with persons on different levels and in different areas is essential.
Competence
Msc in Engineering Mechanical/Mechatronics
At least 3 years' experience as a design engineer from the truck industry.
Complete vehicle and truck application knowledge
Technical leadership skills
Product quality and cost mind set
Hardware engineering knowledge (metal, plastic)
Interest in electrical issues
