hela Sverige Stora Enso Biomaterials is looking for a Senior NMR specialist to join our Research and Development organisation. In this role, you will be involved in cutting edge research projects in the field of bio-based chemicals and materials and apply your expertise in NMR spectroscopy to contribute to the success of our innovation projects.
The responsibilities will include developing, executing, and optimizing new and existing analytical methods. You will make sure we utilize our NMR to the full capacity and will be working both independently and in cooperation with colleagues within R&D.
The position will be located at Stora Enso's Innovation Centre in Sickla, Stockholm, Sweden and will report to the R&D Manager Circular Chemicals.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Lead our NMR activities and act as a senior expert within the area.
Develop and optimize methods specific to our analytical problems.
Responsibility for our NMR equipment including service and maintenance, software, and hardware.
Build up and continuously update our knowledge within NMR, keep updated with recent developments in the field.
Perform full structure elucidation of organic compounds.
Establish NMR support for other R&D centres in Stora Enso organisation.
Identify and communicate with internal and external resources and stakeholders as applicable.
Develop, update, and maintain procedures and routines relating to technical aspects, quality and safety.
Who are we looking for?
To be a suitable candidate for the position you have an advanced degree (preferably PhD) in chemistry and at least 5 years' previous work experience including proven record as an NMR specialist.
You communicate effectively with all stakeholders and identify ways how we can develop further using NMR to support our projects throughout all stages of the project cycle.
Skills we expect you to have:
Strong knowledge in theory and application of NMR spectroscopy.
> 5 years' experience in developing and implementing new NMR experiments especially in multi-dimensional NMR.
Possess an in-depth understanding of NMR spectroscopy and structure elucidation.
Experience with liquid and solid-state NMR spectroscopy.
