Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drive the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
The ESS section are now recruiting a Senior Mechanical Hardware engineer
You will be part of an agile and approachable organization with skilled product teams consisting of

What will you do?
Your responsibilities are mainly design specifications for Mechanical parts within the Battery system, such as Tray, Cover & Brackets, together with the attributes that rely on those components. But it's also a very close cooperation with CAD engineers, Function owners, System engineers and Test engineers within ESS. There is an important interface towards the Vehicle mechanical interface, as well as the supplier for the ESS or the Mechanical components, that your need to manage. You will be involved in technical decisions towards projects and suppliers, making sure that deadlines are met with the right quality and at the right cost.

We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team player that loves to develop Mechanical HW with the customer in focus. You have a broad knowledge and experience of developing mechanical structures and are used to express yourself within requirement specifications. You feel comfortable of owning and take responsibility of your components and do so with great attitude. We also believe that you have:
Master of Science in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
At least 5+ year within hardware development incl technical requirements
It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following: Automotive, KOLA, Creo, Agile Principals and methods
