The Cooling and HVAC group is part of the Chassis & Driveline Development department, the global, strategic center for platform development within Volvo Buses. From the responsibility area Cooling System we are responsible for cooling of driveline for both Electrical and Diesel driveline. As Electro mobility grow there come more challenges in how to manage power usage from high voltage system as well as demands on the components. This is the role?
When you become a part of our team at the group Cooling and HVAC, you will have colleagues from different parts from all over the world. At the same time you will get the benefits from working in a smaller company because Buses is like a small company within Volvo Group.
As a senior mechanical engineer for Cooling System you will have deep knowledge and the holistic view of the complete Cooling System functionality both for the system and for components included. When you work in projects you will take a more general responsibility for all cooling system design work.
You will have component ownership with a strategic responsibility for some components where you lead the development and integration in our future products for our electrical, hybrid and diesel buses.
You will work in close cooperation with our Cooling System Team including, System Owner, Testing and Simulation specialists, purchasing and suppliers for example. Your work will also involve collaboration with colleagues in our sites in Brazil, Poland, Mexico and India as well as with our Volvo owned brands Prevost and Nova in North America.
Who are you?
We believe that to be successful in this position you enjoy working in a team and love to develop complex systems with the customer perspective in mind. You have a broad knowledge and experience of Engine Cooling functionality and regulations for vehicles suited for public transportation. You also have experience from the automotive industry and get motivated by working in a truly global, cross functional environment.
Qualifications:
University degree in Engineering in relevant area or equivalent based on relevant work experience
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
Good knowledge in CAD. Preferable CATIA V5
Experience from Engine Cooling system development.
Experience of Volvo Group product development processes and tools is a merit
