hela Sverige The Hardware Engineering section is a part of Bioprocess systems R&D department, that consists of approx. 100 employees divided into seven different sections. The Hardware Engineering section consists of 19 team members. The department is responsible for development of protein purification and analysis instrumentation, such as ÄKTA and Biacore. The department is multidisciplinary and is responsible for new product development and support of existing products and driving innovation & research.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Hardware Engineering section is responsible for development of hardware for ÄKTA & Biacore systems and supporting product and process care for existing products. The sections main competence is in mechanics, electronics and micro fluidics.
We are now looking for a self-driven and accountable Senior Mechanical Engineer focusing on development of chromatography systems with interest in leading people and activities.
The daily work includes both design work as well as leading others as a team leader for a hardware team with approximately 10 engineers with competence in electronics, mechanics, optics and embedded sw. The team use agile ways of working and frequently interact with other functions as system engineers, manufacturing and service..
The position includes:
• Active participation in research and development projects
• Develop mechanical systems (pumps, valves, chassis, moving parts, injection moulded and additive parts, etc)
• Writing requirement specifications, develop product concepts, and supporting service and manufacturing.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience
• Experience in development of integrated systems
• Knowledge and experience from fluidical systems with pumps and valves and moving mechanics
• Experience from work in multidisciplinary environments
• Proven ability to lead others, planning and report progress and status
• Very good communication skills (both written and spoken), including presentation skills
• Goal-oriented team worker
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
Desired Characteristics:
• Significant work experience or more
• Knowledge in 3D CAD modelling and experience from managing documentation in PDM system
• Experience in gathering and defining customer requirements
• Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive cost, performance, reliability, serviceability and scheduled commitments
• Market understanding and business awareness
