Cochlear BAS (Bone Anchored Solutions) in Mölnlycke just outside of Gothenburg designs, develops and produces the bone-anchored Baha hearing implant currently used in three products: BP100, Intenso and Cordelle II. The company has grown rapidly in past years and will continue to do so through: Customer Motivation, Product Innovation, Operational Excellence, Organizational Leadership and Sustainable Value. BAS has approximately 180 employees with a wide range of competencies such as mechanical, technical, electro & bioengineering, design & product development, software development, audiology, clinical research, purchasing etc.
THE POSITION
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Cochlear you are expected to develop and sustain products and be supportive regarding technical issues both internally (other departments) and externally (sub suppliers). This includes but is not limited to:
• Mechanical design of sound processors and related components
• Verification and testing of new and existing products
• Documentation of mechanical designs
• Contribute with input to technical description for purchase
• Contribute with input to marketing regarding new and existing products
• Develop and sustain technical documentation'
QUALITIES AND PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
To be a considered for this position you need a minimum of ten years experience of mechanical design with focus on plastic materials and tooling. This has provided you with a good knowledge base within common manufacturing methods as well as within common measuring and test methods. You also have a good command of CAD programs such as Pro Engineer and/or Inventor together with a good general computer literacy.
You have a university degree from a technical field and are fluent in Swedish and English with good writing and presentation skills in both.
As a person you have a drive and ability to take full responsibility in own projects combined with excellent team-working skills. You also have an outgoing and networking personality with a great deal of ideas and creative thinking.
